I just picked up a 2007 BMW 328xi with GA6L45R (General Motors)automatic transmission. Just under 70k are on the odometer and I want to drop the pan and replace the fluid and filter, as there was no record of that being done previously.

Any opinions on the Redline ATF? I am not very familiar with their ATF, and am wondering if it is better to stick with OEM BMW fluid or something similar.

Thanks!

Redline won't meet any warranty requirements for your BMW (not sure if you still have a warranty or not), but Redline's fluids are very good. I'm going to do the 2nd drain/fill of D6 in the Fusion's tranny soon.

If you only want your transmission's lifetime to be 100K miles, then yes.

Sure is...but a lot of folks dump it at 60k. its my son's car so I want to keep up on the service, as I know he will not.
