Unfortunately I don't know the maintenance history.

Awesome!

Do you know how miles were on it when you bought it 4-5 years ago?

Congrats on that mileagestone. Those were a great generation of Maxima's.

I also am proud to say that today my CR-V went over 190,000. Should be at 200k within 3 months.

Remember, that O'Reillys kid in another thread said WM oil is defective.Hummm...that's why the engine lasted so long...

Here is a photo of my bill of sale, I purchased it on 06/27/09, and we recorded the price for lower for licensing and insurance reasons

I did my first oil change using Chevron Supreme 5W30 at 244K Miles, on or near 07/11/09, three weeks after purchasing.

In heavy snow areas where salt is used, yes. Not here though.
This was my core support after replacing the radiator.

Impressive! Congrats on the milestone. Looks to be in great shape at 300k.

Loved the VQ in my '92....but not the long throw 5-manual.

A few questions:

-why was the po selling?

-Auto or manual transmission?

-what trim?

-how is the interior holding up, seats, dash?

-The 92 (3rd gen) should have the VE30 or VG30.

-Don't know why he was selling it, he probably told me and I forgot over the years.

-5MT

-According to the VIN plate, it is an SE, although it is equipped more like a GXE with cloth seats, no spoiler, steel wheels, and black face gauges.

-Interior is in excellent shape. I rebuilt the OEM Clarion tape deck using a $5 goodwill radio to replace the LCD display

VQ30DE... a really excellent engine for the time.

I had a 98 and it was a very reliable car. I don't own the car, but I know who does and it's still running in 250k+ miles range. Here's the kicker -- the TIMING BELT HAS NEVER BEEN CHANGED!

the '98 has a timimg chain. I had a '95, '97, and '00.

You are correct. It was an SE and so had the VE30DE @ 190hp.

Friend of mine has a 98 that's nearing (if it hasn't gotten there already) 400,000 miles. Still runs like brand new. 3000 mile oil changes on PYB

my co-worker has the exact same car. He complaint the dip stick reading IS always wrong. Either too much or too little and driving him crazy. Do you experience the same issue? Thx

The dipstick is located in an oil return passage and gets covered in oil when running. Check it before running in the morning or wait 20 minutes.

Congratulations! Not too many people stick with cars that long! I'm nearly 2/3 of the way there (according to the incorrect odometer on my Jeep)

On a site note - are those Mustang wheels?
