Not the best pics/vid, but had an old paint can, a resurrected vacuum cleaner tha has a variable speed blow as well as suck, some clay, fly ash, and a little cement.
Made the forge Saturday, and fired it Sunday, with the "refractory" (and I use that term really really loosely) still pretty damp.
Fired it with BBQ charcoal, and a few handfuls of what turned out to be very high ash street find coal....but got a good melt.
Made a couple of rod/ingots, I reckon the rod will melt easier than ingots for a future job should I do it. A bucket full of cans, and a few pieces of M20 BMW oil pump turned into...
For a crucible, I used the can part of a Fram oil filter that I cut apart last oil change on the Caprice.
