I actually like horizontal bars on the grille, especially when made of metal. I just like them in the actual location of the grille and not in a gaping hole on the bumper. The bumper grille trend is just not making sense to me. Though as you said, it's in the eye of the beholder.

To me, that look just isn't doing it. Even on the current Fusion, which was touted for its Aston looks, I find it ugly in person. I thought they looked okay in pictures, but in person, I can't help but think "gaping fish mouth."

I think the last really stylish, good looking mainstream midsize is the Passat. I am not a VW fanboy in the slightest. Not at all. Pretty sure I have "bashed" them on here before, but this is the last good looking mainstream sedan...

That, to me, is a good looking car. Proper grille, proper bumper, classy understated looks. No crazy, swoopy character lines. No gaping fish mouth that looks like a large mouth bass with a Fu Manchu 'stache.

Looks are subjective, I just don't get where this one came from. Who said "yeah, a gaping fish mouth on the bumper will look good"? And who approved it?

The last Camry did look a little generic and aimless, but at least was not offensive. Why does VW of all companies seem to have a monopoly on classy, but inoffensive looking cars?

FWIW, I stumbled on this pic of a Vietnam market Camry. That's actually a good looking car. Actually kind of classy for a Camry. Why does the US get no love?

0kay, okay....I understand it's not for everyone...but I have to.....
I've been looking at that photoshopped grill and decided it needed tweaking...matching the color of the bumper a bit better to the car's color...

This version (above) gave me an idea...lightened the bumper to better match the paint.

That grille is horrific.

I agree with so many others here, it is grotesque, and obnoxious.

But it is true that many vehicles have this ugly and overbearing trait today. Heck you can see the similarities in many models today.

Not to mention cars today are huge, heavy, numb, highly electronically complicated, and very expensive! When repair time out of warranty arrives these things will be money pits.

I'm becoming less and less interested in what the automotive manufacturers are offering as each year passes by.

I can see this as a factory grill for the XLE to distinguish it from the LE and SE/XSE...quite distinguished, (in both meanings, different and "classy") don't you think...

I bet given the design of the stock LE grill, that this chrome fascia would snap on quite easily....

I picture sticking some whiskers all along the edge of the hood and grille, then the catfish look would be complete. I might could market the aftermarket whiskers.

Don't those require fitting a compatible connection to the device? Dealing with that when it's not charging is more hassle than just plugging the phone in.

I have two family members who have placed orders and want first dibs on this new 2015 Camry. They will be available by the end of this summer according to a dealer in NJ. One is my mother who will be trading in her 2009 Lexus ES for one(my gift to her). I told her to get a 2014 Lexus ES or even a 2014 Avalon but all she wanted was a Camry. Also my cousin has informed me that he wants to trade in his 2012 Audi Q7 S line for a 2015 Camry as well. He told me he has had numerous warranty issues with it and he wanted to downgrade.
