So tomorrow, weather permitting, I will be detailing the Accord. Usual routine is wash / dry / spray wax. I am planning on doing a wash / dry / iron-x / rinse / clay / wash / dry / wax. My question is once I do the iron x, do i need to wash and dry before clay? Or just rinse then go right into claying without washing and drying. Basically is it ok to clay with water from the iron x rinse or does the surface have to be washed and dried before claying. Thanks! Sorry if this is confusing. Tips would be helpful. I would like to start early in the morning because i feel it will take a while =/

Wash the car, dry off most of the water (90% of it)

Spray the entire vehicle with Iron-X, let it dwell for 5 min.

Take damp MF towel, agitate Iron-X GENTLY. Allow it to dwell for another 5 min.

Rinse the car. Soak up most of the water.

Spray your favorite clay lube. Go clay.

Dry.

If you drive your car it'll eventually build up iron particles. You don't have to live by railroad tracks to get iron fallout.

When cars use their brakes they send out iron particles from the rotors, these can waft around and settle on paint, after oxidizing they can end up bonding through the paint and will need removal.
