Wifes car noise ... engine around oil pan ?

Sounds like this sound is from oil pan or area around it ...

Sounds bad any ideas ?

What kind of car...
Hard to tell but sure sound like a rod bearing to me while not under load. How is the oil pressure?

oil pressure warm at idle 23psi

its not really a ticking / knocking noise ..
I'm thinking that this might be a AC compressor that is near by ...

I will have UOA tomorrow for oil will see if this will shed some light

It is the PS, AC or some accessory not a rod bearing.

Mechanics stethoscopes are $15 at Sears.... Might be a good useful place to start

Pull your accessory belts. Start the car. An easy to half split the system. If no noise go from there. If the noise is still present something else is going on.

Hi Guys,

Didn't get chance to mess with belts, But I noticed that this happens only after driving there is no noise after start ... shouldn't rod make noise non stop cold/hot

It should, but may not as the oil heats up and the pressure comes down.

Start with the belts and go from there.
