The reason was given earlier - to steal people's Comcast IDs and passwords. However, I don't really know how that would benefit a potential thief. I can't think of much damage that you could do with that info.



Not really anything. Change their services? See what they DVR? That's about it.


Some folks use that horrid comcast.net as their email which is one step closer to getting someone's identity.

I love this service!!!!!

My daughter's fine motor therapy has this router show up and I was able to login with my xfinity credentials work away for the 1hr she was in.

Kudo's to Comcast/Xfinity.

I was in line waiting for pizza for 20 minutes. the local pizza place has "xfinitywifi" I used it in the parking lot while waiting for my pizza to cook.
