Consensus? Here?? Surely you jest.
I have zero experience with Molykote 77 on slide pins protected by rubber boots.
My consensus is that Molykote is a high solids (60%?) paste. The CRC black grease is well below 5% solids and contains more lube oils. It's my opinion that the high solids paste is for use on weather exposed metal to metal contact points. I use regular brake grease on the non exposed pins that have rubber boots.
That's my take, and I am "sticking" (pun there) with it.
