Here is a 3MB scan of the actual recall instructions to the dealer on the procedure to fix the dreaded HVAC recall for the 12-13 Toyota Camry in which the HVAC evaporator condensation collects in the unit due to a plugged drain and then shorts out the aiorbag module. The only "catch" with this document is it is black and white and one diagram shows "to remove the red items" for access. Well, you can image which of the items in the parts blowup diagram really would need to be removed.

THis gives you an ide of the amount of console tearing apart they will have to do. And then you get to enjoy all the scratches, unsticky sticky tapes and creaking plastic parts that they have re assembled.

My dad had this done to his 2012 Camry about a month ago. The dealer automatically scheduled to have the work done when he scheduled his oil change for the 40k service. The only major downside was that it took some time out of his day but luckily he's retired. He was at the dealer from 1pm to 3pm or so. But at least it's done and over with. thumbsup

This has been the only issue with the car which was purchased in October of 2011. This car replaced a 2007 Camry that was also an early production model built in Oct of 2006.
