If you look at the stats in the US at least, the restricting of gun rights always equals a higher crime rate and LESS safe neighborhoods. "lol"

Sensitive much? Nobody implied implementing gun restriction...

Then you should move to the United States, if you skip a few of the hotspots, like Detroit, most of our cities are safer than living in Canada...

Most of the high crime areas in your Canada map are in the far North and aboriginal mid-west, not the majority of the populated areas.
You know those are skewed numbers ....

I think these numbers are more reflective of the true state of affairs. http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/Canada/United-States/Crime

To say that most of your cities are safer than Canada is a real stretch. Had to throw my $0.02 Canadian in.

All crimes aren't created equal either....
We steal hubcaps and cars while the US kills by the hundreds & hundreds.

All the best.

Bob

Face it, we have 10X the population and we're about proportional in murder rate. Further, if you take out the criminal underclass, we'd be down near the EUs' rate for murder.
[sarcasm] You're really just mad because you can't have all the fun toys we can have down here[end sarcasm].

Bob - I am well aware of how crime is distributed in both our countries. After several years in Winnipeg, I am more Canadian than you might think...certainly more Canadian than those softies who have never experienced a real prairie winter...

But my post was a response to the somewhat smug post from Rolla "No thanks, id rather a lower crime rate and safer neighbourhoods ; ) LOL." which reflects the common Canadian mis-perception on crime and safety. It smacks of superiority, when the facts are somewhat different. Our neighborhoods are every bit as safe, it's in a few cities (and places like Nunavut) where the anomalies occur that distort the statistics.
