How does the Wynns engine oil flush compare?

After a flush, should the drained oil contain any sludge? If there is no sludge, does this mean the engine was quite clean to begin with?

Any recommendations on the best product to remove varnish?

Don't use additives for that purpose, just use a good oil and change it more often like 2-3k miles. Cutting open your filter is one of the best ways to gauge how much you're getting out of the engine short of pulling the valve covers and oil pan.
