2006 Tacoma 4.0 V6 1GR-FE - Oil pump replace when?

I've got a 2006 Tacoma with the 1GR-FE V-6 that has over 350k miles on it. Should the oil pumps in these Toyota's be replaced at some mileage? Or is it a safe bet to just keep running it?

You need to check the clearances between the gears and the pump housing if the clearance is above factory specs then you should replace it.

But to check that you need to remove the oil pan and oil pump, so depending on the cost of the new pump many would vote for change it now that you have everything off.

No need to replace if it keeps working. My 1994 LS400 with over 360k miles didn't need to replace it.

Keep an eye on the oil pressure if you think there might be a problem. Get yourself a good oil pressure gauge if there isn't one already.
