I have a 12 year old simplicity snow blower. The chute has a bit rust from rocks in my driveway before it was paved.

We just got 8"+ of powder followed by rain. What happens is if snow is slushy it jambs in the chute and is beyond annoying to clear. I used a can of liquid wrench and it helped till it wore off. And then I used up my wife's cooking spray to her dismay which did a bit better.

1) Is there a preferred lubricant, wax or slippery stuff that works well?
2) Do most folks remove the rock guard since it makes an area for snow blower to clog up.
