if my 2002 silverado 6.0 uses a pf-59 would it also take a upf-59? does anyone have the gm part number for this filter?

well, they dont make the UPF59 anymore IIRC

But, you can use a UPF58

as long as your oil filter is not sideways or upside down, it has to mount with the holes facing up.

Because the 58 is the same, but with NO antidrainbackvalve.

I have a 2003 silverado 1500HD 6.0 Mine takes the
pf-44. I recently purchased a case of the UPF-44

They still make the 44 and the 52 in the UPF
( I got a case of both )

GM. changed filters from 2002 to 2003 from
the 59 to the 44 then in 2003 to 2004 they changed from the 44 to the 46

also you can use either the 59, 44 or 46 for the 6.0 The 59 is the biggest, but for some reason, they went the the smaller 44 in 2003. Some say it was something to do with piston slap, but I am unsure. If you want to use the UPF series, you will have to use the UPF-44. I have had good luck witht this filter in very cold conditions, it flows well. There is a filter study using a different UPF that indicated it does not flow well?

I will continue to use this filter.

eddyzima--the info you want is here.

By the way, I just checked partsvoice.com and could only find 6 of the 59s at a dealer in Jersey.
