What is everyone's opinion on Supertech Synthetic?

Nothing wrong with it at all,a good choice for a lesser expensive Syn oil.

It is a good, maybe slightly above average synthetic oil. It is not Mobil1 or Pennzoil Ultimate... but it is about as good as you can get for the $17.50 at a non-sale price

It is quality stuff. Use it with confidence. ST syn is made by WPP and meets GM's 4718M standards.

My father runs it in his Jeep liberty and has for 210,000 miles with changes of between 7 to 10k and a P1 or Fram filter the silver mid range one I can't recall what they call it right now. I run ST syn in my 4Runner quite often usually in winter for an 8k oil change or when I tow my 5,000+lb camper in the hot summer and a 6k change with a P1 filter. I now have 170,000 miles on it and it runs great so ST must be good.

We know it's not as good as a name brand synthetic like Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum, but the question is:

Is it has good as a name brand premium conventional like PYB ?

Depends on how you define "good/better". Really, it is splitting hairs between most oils anyway and Conv. and Syn will protect well enough for however many miles is needed within manufacturer specs. So without an giant flaming debate...

I would personally say it is "slightly better" (lower NOACK) than PYB although it is shown that PYB can have some really good numbers. SOPUS tends to toss some great basestock into PYB every so often and PYB has the Moly. I think the two really do blur the lines between Conv and Syn. Personally, PYB would be a 5k interval...7.5K interval being cautious. ST would be a 7.5k interval without much worry (for NA cars not driven harshly). If you have a turbo... well go for a better brand, ST minimum, and not PYB.
