Anyone know who makes the original GM air filter? I ordered one from EBAY that said it was original GM and it does say GM on the side of it but did not come in any packaging and also says MANN FILTERS made in Mexico. Have I gotten a cheap knock off?

Your issue is you might not get a clone of what the factory made in the "Service parts" section.
If I bought an AC spark plug I could get a NGK branded (on the electrode) plug, for example.
I suspect someone broke up a jobber's dozen for your part.

GM does not make their own parts like this anymore since the bankruptcy. Mann filters bid on a contract to make filters to GM specs. Likewise the NGK branded spark plugs are made to GM specs. The old AC spark plug division is long gone. FWIW
