Hit a minor milestone in my 1995 Mercury Sable today. Bought her September 1, 2012 with 109,000.

Has the dreaded 3.8/auto trans combo. It looks like the valve covers have been off before (head gasket repair possibly).

The motors knocks lightly at idle when warmed up, the trans slips, lots of rust underneath, but she won't stop running.

Hello, Keep that thing on the road as long as you can. With every passing year you'll have a broader selection of used car types to choose from AND more savings to buy a "new-to-you" car.

My mother's 1991 Taurus (3.0L V-6 auto) had the bad, bad trans. Ford really has a spotted history with things like honesty. Kira

That dash really makes me miss my old 1986 and 1988 Z24s. I loved the digital dashes, and the ability to change them over to metric with just a push of a button whenever I went to Canada.
