2012 Toyota 4runner. How much grease do you use when greasing slide yoke with a small grease gun thru the zerk fitting. Toyota does not specify and the seal is very tight and I do not want to blow it out.

Put in a little over 1/4 of and oz. initialy

I did this to a old 4x4 toyota pickup awhile ago, never saw any grease come out?! Must have pumped a quarter of a tube into each shaft and its like it was filling up the hollow space in the shaft...

If they have never been done, like I see all the time it will take alot. I like to see a wet spot around the slip joint seal after running truck and as long as it is not really cold it will just seep out of the joint and won't damage the seal. Just grease them alot and drive it around and check for grease at the joints and add until you do.

Keep greasing until you start to see it move (yoke), then your done. The first time will take a lot of grease.
