Pulling codes on pre-OBD2 truck

On GM cars, you can short 2 pin connectors on the plug in jack and the "check engine" light blinks the appropriate code. "on on, pause, on on on" = 23.
Perhaps Chrysler has that too.

Chrysler product turn the key on-off-on-off-on rapidly and count the check engine light flashes as above.

Don't do it too fast, about 1 full second on for the cluster to light up, off for half sec, back on for one sec, off for a half sec and then on. 12 means nothing, 55 means its done. I am sure you can do a quick Google search for the list of codes.
