They are very close to the .300 Winchester Magnum; but generally noted for good accuracy with all bullet weights, something that other .300 magnums are very temperamental about.

The Winchester development superseded the Holland & Holland because the latter, at 2.850 inches long, needed a magnum-length action.

If you reload, IMR 4350 will work great.

Make sure the barrel is in good shape, they were hard on the barrel. I would go with a .300 ultra mag and buy the power level you intend to shoot. Be forewarned a box of 20 rounds is around 80 dollars.

Classic and versatile cartridge. Good for about anything in North America from deer to bear to moose. Personally if I was going to go for a magnum cartridge and was not shooting long distance, the 375H&H is the Holland and Holland cartridge I would choose.

In an action designed for the 300 H&H it is crazy smooth.
It is a cartridge designed for bolt action feeding mechanisms.

Crazy Smooth!

However, there are more popular and more powerful cartridges out there now a days.
But it is a very good, very classic cartridge.
