Hi, I have to do an oil change on a 2006 Avalon 3.5 and was wondering how accurate it's olm is? Am debating on whether or not to make up a oil change tag, or instruct the owner to follow the olm... What say ye???

You may want to check the owners manual but I think that car uses the maintenance light as a mileage countdown.

IIRC, that OLM for that car goes by mileage, not actual condition of oil. After a certain mileage after the last reset, it triggers the reminder.

Dummy light.

Slap a tag on the windshield for 5k and 6 mo from now for the next service.

Sounds correct - I service a 2007 Lexus ES350 and that's all it has. Every 5000 miles the light comes on - no regard for actual time on oil.
