I could not find any informative topic in this case. I would like to know what are the requirments in this section. No I'm not happy with the answer 'go and buy the satchet stuff in a parts store'.

What are the basics regarding viscosity, additives, base oils etc?

To begin with here is a leaflet. Which one would You suggest?

I usually buy the stuff sold for that application, its slimy and some type of synthetic.

I sell Amsoil and their Racing Grease is acceptable but I do not know what is required as this is a fill-for-life grease.

The grease needs to be soft and still protect under heavy loads.

Going through that link, the closest one I see that "may" fit your bill would be Multis MS2.

Again, this is just a close call, with no factory supplementary notes or application-specific sheets to reference to.

While the outside Rzeppa joint doesn't require much other than high-pressure (shock proof) with moly (common practice RE: CV grease), the other concern would be the proper grease to be used on the inside joint (Tripod joint) where in addition to friction reduction, shocks, high temp, it has to "slide" as well due to the nature of the joint design).

I have been using those black CV grease pouch that came with aftermarket CV boots for over 20 yrs now, no issues with them that I'm aware of.

Q.

The tripod joint isn't very demanding for lubrication, Fiat invented the modern FWD setup and ran the tripod in the trans oil, which was straight 90wt GL3.

This is a popular one :

Also GKN has a specific "racing" grease for the tripod :

Valvoline Durablend states that it is suitable for CV joints. Since it is only 6-7 dollars for a standard size grease gun tube, I would choose Valvoline Durablend.

Valvoline Synpower might also be suitable, I never looked because Durablend already exceeds the minimum requirements for practically every car I work on.

It seems like all CV greases recommend have large amounts of moly.
