My Chrysler dealer switched from Mobil to SOPUS

They've got two boxes of M1 0w-40 + 5L loose that are sitting by the counter for me

They are now carrying the SRT 0w-40 and PU 5w-40 (the latter packaging still stating SM for those curious)

This means if I want it, I'll have to get it from CT now, unless they can special order it and still honour the price I was getting before, which I'm doubtful about.

you shoulda stocked up in akron last summer.
25$/5qt jug.

Wifey could marvel at the "super walmart market"

and miss you with the shopping cart of oil :p

Customs officer: do you have anything to declare

LOL! Maybe we just need to come pay you a visit?

I think the SRT 0w40 will serve you well.

Otherwise, why not try RLI 0w30, RL 0w40, or 300V 0w40?

The SRT stuff isn't LL-01, whilst M1 0w-40 and PU 5w-40 are. I'm highly inclined to stick to an approved lubricant for this application.

Though I may add that the potential silver lining here is an awesome price on PU 5w-40 and meaning I no longer have to order it from Amazon

M1 SM 0W-40 is the best light 0W-40 for winter use that's on the BMW LL-01 list.

Was M1 0W-40 that good of a deal at your Chrysler dealer?
It's almost always on sale at Cdn Tire for $8.40/L and sometimes cheaper.

BTW what is the Chrysler price for the SRT (PP?) 0W-40 and PU 5W-40?

Imperial Oil should be able to get it for you at about a couple bucks per litre cheaper than WM or CT. Or, you could go for Delvac 1 and really save!

Overkill I'm more then happy to bring you 0w40 bottles from US Walmart if you are ok with picking it up in Ancaster.

Not sure if there is duty+hst or just HST never paid attenetion . when I always pay I have many different things.

Yes, the deal I had with the parts manager meant that it was cheaper than CT on sale.

I haven't asked about pricing on the SOPUS products. I can find out however.

That's a very generous offer! Will let you know if I intend on taking you up on it

In Canada there is also Delvac 1 ESP 0w40, which on paper looks almost identical to M1 0w40. No formal approval though.

Yup, at this time I'm unwilling to deviate from an LL-01 oil.

Do you live near a Pep Boys? They stock some of that Pennzoil Ultra that is made mostly for European cars and Chryslers. Sometimes, a sale happens where if you buy 5 quarts and a filter, you get a far lower price than normal.

And...? The nearest PoopBoys is only an hour and a half away, in Buffalo, NY.

The Delvac 1 5w-40 has higher TBN that the Delvac 1 0w-40. I know, you won't deviate.

Check Imperial Oil. The only downside (I suppose depending on your point of view) is that you'll have to be a box of 6 single litres at time. The good side is that it's not WM or CT, which are shopping nightmares.
