T6 in my BMW??

Thanks for that Ducati. My bimmers are both stock. I read somewhere that a Shell OEM technical advisor said that Rotella T would be fine for gas engines, the only issue would be the 15w-40 viscosity might be too thick for very cold temps, so then the T6 5w-40 would be preferable.

"Diesels engines have much larger bearing surfaces to carry the loads generated and typically turn much slower than gasoline engines (the older large diesels anyways)"

Well..yes and no, you have to look at surface speed not rpms
to do this comparison, the same hplds true for piston speed.
Their generally larger dimensions increases surface speed so
that they may be equal to a gas engine.

Of course you can use T6 in all of those vehicles. You could dial in specific oils for each vehicle with UOA and perhaps achieve 1ppm better wear or save a dollar in the process. But to me, the ease of using one oil for all vehicles makes things a lot easier and worth the extra dollar. While you're at it, put it in any outdoor power equipment, ATVs, or motorcycles that don't need something heavier.
