+1, I'm considering picking up a few quarts simply for flush before filling the sump with Valvoline Maxlife ATF. Even the SuperTech by the gallon is ~$12. The oil isn't bad either but I've got plenty of 5W20 and 5W30. I'd only be interested in 10W40 and my need just isn't really high right now.

IDK, I think it's better than flush oil though. I see no reason it can't be used for a 20-30k OCI in a majority of auto trans, and definitely great for use in any p/s system.

I hit 4 different DG stores after work tonight. Between the 4 stores I picked up 16 quarts of 10W30 and 10 quarts of 5W20. I am going to try again tomorrow to see if I can score more 5W20 and a few more 10W30. As it is I have enough for 2 oil changes for my wife's car, and 4 changes for my truck. I need a couple more quarts of 10W30 for make-up oil for my truck. I need to get 10 more quarts of 5W20 to have enough for a total of 4 oil changes plus make up oil for my wife's car. They both burn about half a quart every 2,000 miles.

I think it is pretty frustrating that DG would offer such a good price on Peak and then not have enough in stock to meet the demand. I asked at each store if they had any more 10W30 and/or 5W20 in the stock room. At 3 of the stores the employees checked their stock room and told me all they had was on the shelf. At the last store I visited the girl just said "no, what we have is on the shelf." One employee told me they won't receive any more Peak until after the sale ends on Saturday..Sounds like a really stupid business practice to me. I guess they are counting on people not going to the trouble to ask for a rain check and coming back to redeem it. Like others here I did find plenty of ATF and 10W40. A couple stores had STP 5W20 on the shelf too.

I will try again tomorrow or Saturday. I did have to crack open one of the 10W30 quarts when I got home. Peak smells a lot like Valvoline. It has that clear golden Valvoline color too. Nothing like replenishing my stash with such good oil at $1.80 a quart...

Do you have Pep Boys near you? I would think that the $10 deal for 5 quarts with an oil filter would be a better deal on black friday, but those do require sending in a rebate.

We do have a new Pep Boys about a mile from my house. However, my truck takes 4 quarts of oil. 4 quarts on this DG sale cost me $7.20 at $1.80 each. I can get my Purolator Classic filters at Walmart for $3.27. Total oil change price is $10.47. It will cost about 90 cents more for my wife's car, since she has a 4.5 quart oil capacity. Either way, I would rather not fool with the rebate when the cost at DG and WM adds up to only 47 cents to 90 cents higher than the rebate deal.

I picked up another 14 quarts tonight after work. I now have a total of 40 quarts in my stash, enough for 4 changes each on my truck and my wife's car, plus a few extra quarts for top-offs. I am set for a pretty good while now on oil for both vehicles.

I will either buy our filters as we need them or maybe check online prices. I may try comparing the regular price on Puro Classics at Walmart vs. using an online discount and buying from AAP. I have one L14670 on hand for my truck and no L14610's for her car so I need a total of 7. That's about $23.00 at Walmart.

I can get filters cheap, it's the price of the oil that I was glad to save so much money on. I went to a different DG store near my office after work, they had plenty of each grade on the shelf. Maybe they had just put it out but I was glad to not have to go to any other DG stores.

They had a bunch of Dex III, but I need Merc V for my F150.

My DG's have 5w-20 and 10w-30 out the wazuu. I really wished mine carried some more 10w40 for my slant 6 daily driver.
