Oil cap on '02 Trail Blazer 4.2L in line six cylinder calls for 5W30 ...Anybody run 0W30 M1 , PP , etc. without issues - Or does GM frown on this for model year and engine ?
I wont help your gas mileage. 290 HP 4.2 in a 2 tonne vehicle = guzzla. Nice thrick though, I suggested my boss get one for his wife in the used 4K$ range typically overlooked suv with a powertrain designed to go 300K+ miles easy.
Is Georgia gonna get the frozen tundra treatment this year?
I'll let you know that our '09 Subaru Forester running a mix of 3qt 10w40 + 1qt 5w30 Formula Shell got the same or better fuel mileage as our '11 ruuning 0w20. But the 09 had VTEC AND THE '11 HAS VVTI. Both Sticks.
Mobil 1 AFE 0w30 is safe to use in any 5w30 warranty application per the website. I think it's also a good winter oil too. A 5w30 synthetic flows plenty well in Michigan winters though.
