I have had double vision when i look down for about a month i went to 3 eye doctors my regular MD and a Neurologist Did anyone else have this? I had scans of my head and neck all show normal..
They say it Should go back to normal in a few months..I don't like the word :Should"

They call this 4th nerve palsy....

Well you covered your bases, that's messed up!

On MS patients where they think it's a semi-permanent thing they have prism glasses to get stuff right again.

I hope you feel better soon. If it was something obvious the tests should have revealed something. It's possible you damaged a nerve or stress that may be causing this. Most of us never think we are stressed but our bodies think otherwise. If your on no prescription meds and are willing to try natural remedies kava capsules help short term and St. John's Wort may be of benefit. Both have minimal if no side affects.

Other than that exercise 30min a day get as much rest as you can and eat reasonably. That's all you can do.

Good luck my friend.

Jeff

I have not had that issue, nor have I heard of it.

I wish you the best with it and hope it gets better much sooner than a few months!

+1 on having your Thyroid levels checked and too I would get Vitamin D levels checked while I was @ it.

My wife (MD) thinks you have probably covered your bases with the exams you have received so far. Her advice, beyond continuing follow up visits to your regular MDs, is maybe seeing an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist) to rule out anything vestibular. Monitor your symptoms and seek immediate help if things change.

Don't want to scare you but the last guy I knew with this had a brain tumor. Didn't find it till it was almost to late. If your current doctor can't figure out it.. get a second opinion it could save your life.

I get double vision (it's more like lack of focus) when I get tired. Ophthalmologist told me it's the eye muscles. I started noticing this back around 1986.

Since then I've had Bells Palsy twice. Once on the right side and once on the left side of my face.

Most that have had palsy have issues with closing their eyes. I'm the opposite. I have trouble keeping them open, especially when I look down. Doc told me some of my focus problems is because of this. I really can focus better if I stain my eyes to open wide.

Just curious; do you get double vision up-and-down or side-to-side?

I totally agree with this.

My Dad started to see slightly double when driving at night. Oncoming headlights would appear hazy with halos around them. Dad was the type to follow-up on health issues. He'd rather know now than later (good advice).

He had a battery of tests done. Ophthalmologists, neuro-doctors, etc. All negative.

Later, he realized the inside of the windshield was dirty/filmy.

I'm hoping it's nothing serious. You might want to find a fourth ophthalmologist that specializes in diabetes. He/she would have the test equipment to really check the lens, cornea and retina curvature.

i am seeing an neuro-ophthalmologist Wednesday. I want to thank all my fellow bitogers for all the well wishes. I had x-rays and scans and even an mra i think they call it but nothing shows up..
