MaxLife in a Kohler marine generator

Hi,

I have a 5000w Kohler generator in my boat.
Need to do an oil change on it.

There is 140hours on it, what about Valvoline MaxLife. At this time there is no oil leak on it. Manufacturer request API oil. My idea is to put 10w30 maxlife. is that a good idea? Or I should keep regular dino oil ?

I'd pobably go with Roella T5 over Maxlife for the better addative package.

I like to use Rotella T6 5W40 in all my power equipment , it's full synthetic and has a good add package . It is used a lot in motorcycles as well .

T5 is a semi-synt oil , correct?

I use M1 10-30 in my Subaru 5KW gen, and in all my OPE. Works very well.

Yes , T5 is semi Synthetic , T6 is full .

Chalk another up for HDEO here....

I use T5 in most everything around my property, and T6 in my fourwheeler. If it gets REAL hot in the summer when I'm using any given machine I have been known to use 15/40 Rotella or DELVAC. The air cooled engines seem to like the HDEO's.
