Custom mix 5w-40

Hi all,

I needed a 5w-40 oil for some of my old cars in Sweden. A 5w for the winter and a 40 when engine warm, but it is now difficult to find something else than SM or SN... And I wanted a strong add pack for my flat tappets...

So I make my own 5w40 ...

Here is the mix:

Price 7€/l with delivery to Sweden from germany and UK.

I will test it and post the UOA later


PS: High TAN and insoluble traces come from Pennasol which contains recycled base

Interesting.. Looks like an oil I'd like to run in my '85 Ford F-250 7.5L which has a flat tappet.

SM/SN does not impose a limit on add pack for Xw-40 grades. The limit only applies to Xw-20 and Xw-30 grades.

May be, but in fact, the ZDDP are very low, for exemple in the Aral 0w-40 used.
