Hi again !

Here is my new report on remapped '07 BMW 525d

Driving is 50% city, 50% highway. A lot of stop and go, idling for hours during Christmas shopping, cold starts at -20F for 4 weeks twice a day and short trips.

The right column is VOA of BP VISCO 7000 0w-40 LL-04 C3

Temperature in F, distance in Mi

Oil was changed after a 400mi trip, so no fuel.

Does your car have DPF and use SCR (AdBlue)? In other words is it required to use a LL04 oil?
Looks good but are the mileage figures miles or km?
I found that LL04 oil didn't hold TBN well at 11-12000mi (19000km) in my 09 X5 35d, so I now use an ACEA E6 oil (Delvac 1 LE 5W30).
But the X5 35d consumes a lot more fuel than a 525d.

Not bad but less than other oils of the same price from major brands... On this one, you can see than the Ravenol perform better or at least the same considering the statistical variability, despite a high fuel dilution... And Ravennol is a not a major brand.

And btw, changing a LL04 oil after only 6000 km does'nt worth the price of a LL04 ... As he needs a LL04 with the exaust filter, he should choose one oil that can live longer, even if more expensive.

You might consider trying Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W30.
Ash is above specs at 1.0% but P and Zn and S are within LL04 specs.
In a 525d you might be able to get 10-12000 mi before TBN drops too low with this oil.
