This is of course after rebate. Tires are $64ea shipped. On top of that you get:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct...d=15&cs=195

Total $256
$40 instant discount.
$50 Falken Rebate.
$30 Rebate to use their 'care one' card, which I keep around for just this purpose. Have no need to charge tires, but if it gets me another $30 off I'll mail them a check.

Final Price $136 ($34 Per Tire)

Not a super groovy tire, but if you're looking for something to drive around on, you can do much worse. Wife had these on her accord at one time. They wore out quicker than I would have liked for her, but I'm used to getting no more than 10k out of a set on the miata, so it has got to be better than that.

If you want to spend another $12 per tire, you can get the 205/50-15's for the same deal.

Ohh, I should mention that there is a shipping delay so they won't ship instantly, but still, worth the wait for me.

If those are the ZE-912s, aka the Ziex 912, be prepared for RAPID tread wear and sun checking/UV damage within 3 years. I have a set on the wife's xB, only used as summer tires-and she is NOT a rallycross driver!

I have a secondary vehicle that is garaged kept and temperature controlled. I only drive my truck a couple thousand miles a year.

After ten years, Discount Tire refused to rotate my tires and stated that tires are non serviceable after ten years. The tires still had 50% tread. Lifetime to Discount Tire is 10 years......

No doubt Planned Obsolescence. Of course they wanted me to purchase new tires. I will NEVER purchase tires from Discount again.

It's really not safe to drive on 10 year old tires. I don't blame DT for not touching your tires!

Well, good luck with getting any chain tire store to service a 10 year old tire.

Autocrosser/track day-er... Usually my autocross tires are the ones that stay on the car all the time while the track tires are the ones thet get toated back and forth. so the ones on the car are usually very soft and wear quickly. I put the autocrossing on hold so I needed a tire to drive around on for a while.

That's a very good price. You'd have to own an early 90s sporty car for that size. They are an OK 3-season tire. Stay at home if it snows.

After 6 years Sears refused to rotate and balance my Michelin Pilots with their "lifetime" rotation and balance plan I paid extra for. I "retired" the tires after 9 years. Not because they were worn, about 50%, or were cracked, they just became hard and didn't grip as well as when new. Unless you drive a lot in a short time period these plans may not pay off.

Normal recommended service life on a tire is 6 years. That means that after 6 years, the lifetime of the tires are over. Lots of blowouts, rollovers were due to tires that were over 6 years old. Especially if you're in a hot climate.
