3rd oil change on the Equinox.
This is the 6 cyl Equinox. not the 4 cyl.
This time went farther on the OLM. It was down to 13%.
Drained 5.2 qts out of 6.
Engine is still in the wear in phase.

With the results from the 1st UOA- I extended the interval by 1,806 miles.
My intent is to take the oil down to 0% next time.
This one is driven by the missus. More stop and go, more idling, more AC, shorter trips to work.
When she drives- 19-20 MPG.
When I drive 25-28 MPG.

Looks like going to 0% on the OLM should be easy, even a little over wouldn't hurt it. The 2013 Equinox is a sweet ride.

when I changed this oil- I had just poured a little oil into the new filter-- and set it down- I noticed the filter wobbled... what the heck....
I looked at the end- and noticed it was dented.
I grabbed a 2nd one- also dented.
Grabbed a 3rd one- it was ok.
I had bought a batch of 7. 2 dented.
I had bought these a while back- and didnt look at them.
If I had noticed back them- I could have returned them.

damaged filted.. note the circles in the middle. compared to good filter.

based on the 1st and 2nd UOA...
This morning the vehicle is down to 2% OLM and nearing 20,000.

Ill be changing oil soon and getting a 3rd UOA.

rbarrios,

That's one of the best UOAs I've seen on the GM 3.6L DI engine (other than your 2010 that you run VWB in

). Nice flashpoint and reasonable viscosity considering, according to PQIA, PP starts @ 10.0, so not much loss there.

I'd be curious after a few more intervals on PP how regular M1 5W-30 would fare in this engine.

Looking forward to your upcoming UOA.
