This is a VOA of the Ace Hardware 10W-30 SN that was on sale in July for $1.99/qt. BITOG member NormanBuntz confirmed that it is blended by Olympic Oil of Cicero, IL. Pictures of bottle in linked thread.

Can't see anything wrong with this oil (esp. at that price). UOA will follow in 6 months (~3000 mi) when I hit the owner's manual OCI, then I'll see about extending it. Big thanks to 2010_FX4 whose lovely template I stole

Who cares who blended it, what matters is the quality of the oil and additives. And a VOA is only a starting point. It does not mean it will be a great oil.

Get TBN and oxidation in UOA.

Totally agree, but I feel it's worth pointing out because the "MADRAS" stamp on the bottom of the bottle has persistently caused people think this is oil from Chennai, India when it's really a bottle made by Madras Packaging of Atlanta, GA. For more trivia, I think Olympic blends the Briggs & Stratton branded oil as well.

The UOA will have TAN, TBN and oxidation! Assuming the car and I make it to February 2014
