I have a 12" Logan lathe and the headstock spec for lubrication is Keystone 122-7X or Standard Amovis 5X.
Both are obsolete and I was unable to find suitable substitutes. Please help.
TIA

Surprising - most old lathes I've worked with spec for light weight fluids that are similar in composition to hydraulic fluids. The old lathe I work on often was built around 1950 and usea a 7-10cSt hydraulic fluid.

Looks like from that other forum that he just needs a good NLGI#0 or NLGI#1 anti-wear grease. I'm assuming there is yellow metals in the lathe in question - so you'll want to stay away from any greases stating they are EP or extreme pressure.

Any current NLGI # 1 grease will work , but it says with Moly then use a Moly added grease , some even use a # 0 or a #00 ,
be sure of what is required.
