Group 7 Oil Filters ???

Anyone ever hear of Group 7 Oil filters? My Family owns a garage in Michigan and they always use Group 7 oil filters, and I think they are a cheap purolator... However do they have metal end caps? Does anyone have a picture of one cut open?

Google is your friend. Pictures I've seen show plastic end caps.

They are made by Purolator, and the construction is the same as a Classic. They come in a different and smaller range of sizes so that shops can use the same filter number for several vehicles. Most are downsized from the OEM size. The V195 that they spec for my Jeep 4.0 is closer in size and shape to a Motorcraft FL-400s, which it is also speced to replace.

I dont have any specifics on them but we used them for our 50 bus fleet for a number of years in the 1990's. No problems to report.

Looks like the end caps vary depending on which filter model ... strange, as seems maybe they are made by a number of different filter manufacturers. I they were all made by Purolator, I'd expect all the spin-on types to have metal end caps.
