Thin 30 weight oils?

I am surprised no one mentioned the Caterham blend. Look it up. It's a mix of Mobil 1 0W40 and Toyota 0W20 oil, resulting in 30-grade oil with a very high viscosity index. If you want something off the shelf, then Mobil 1 0W30 is an obvious choice, the only 0W30 oil I have seen on shelves besides German Castrol (a relatively thick 0W30 oil, which you didn't want).

Yes, it is a thin 30!

How do you work that one out, or is it because a popular purveyor of bunk has said it one time too many ?

Why ?

the specification is KV100, and minimum HTHS.

If you are more than the minimum HTHS and meet the KV100, then the ruling is 20.

If you are going to use the HTHS trumps KV100, isn't it also a 40 ?

Which is way thick for a 30...
