Cheap hotels in Philadelphia?

I am even being sure to take a soap, from the bathroom. As a souvenir!

Now onto Popeyes in Darby!

The soap you used today was some other room's soap yesterday. I used to work at the complex across the street from the Neshaminy Inn. I don't think homeless people would stay there for free. Definitely one place you want to bring your own sheets, unless Wednesday is the day they wash them. But if you are looking for a cheap rental and interesting people, the Neshaminy Inn is the place to go.

I usually stay at the Ritz or Marriott when I'm in Philly.

Define cheap?

Look in Delaware or Jersey for cheap hotels within 15-20 mins. drive of Philly.

^ +1 that's not a bad idea.

I'm 15 mins from Philly on the Jersey side.

I ended up staying in Bensalem/Trevose (why does every town in PA have two names ? "King Of Prussia" is Upper Merion Twp.. Eagleville is something else, too.. (Trooper?) The list goes on.)

$54.45... Could NJ/DE beat that?

I also see many many DE cars in PA. They race........

Maybe because there is nothing IN Delaware, so they come to PA

I turned down first place at $70 and ended up getting a night's sleep for $54.45 in a room with two beds in it at Neshaminy.

The Interplex, by the Wawa?

I tried to take as many notes as I could about that intersection, especially since the GPS took me to a non-existent Knights Inn - It was a graveyard... LOL...

Yeah, I liked Neshaminy. And two people in a car asked me if I could "rent a room for them, they did not have their ID, they would pay me" after I got late-night 3:30AM munchies and walked to that Wawa. I was pretty sleepy so I just answered honestly that I had my own room that I was going back to... Maybe they were trying to rob me?? It was a black man, and a woman that looked kinda like a porn star I hate. Were they looking to get lucky? I'd have let them come up to mine but I was tired and I didn't need the money THAT bad....

Dude fixing my Blazer had my parking pass and I got a ticket in NJ. Made me mad, so I went to go get it. Of course, he is delaying and wasn't around, so.. had to sleep somewhere LEGAL. (No more government-sponsored housing, thanks. The kind with uniforms.)

So... sight-seeing.

The Philly/NJ region is the most heavily populated area per sq mile in the country by a long shot.

Stayed outside of Philadelphia in King of Prussia Tuesday night.
Best rate I could find was at the Valley Forge Casino (Raddison) $68/Night before taxes.
Used Priceline to get this rate.
And I stayed out of the casino, so I didn't owe anymore than the room rate.

$68 is pretty good for that area. The nice thing about King of Prussia is you are right next to every major highway in the area- makes it easy to get anywhere.

What about that Value inn on Main St, like two blocks from the CVS? I forget what it's called...

Whoa. It is now America's Best Value Inn. I live next door. They renovated it and it is much better than it was- however, they set the bar low. Still some drug deals, but haven't noticed the prostitution in a couple of months. Have no idea what a room costs there.
