would synthetic oil be a better choice, when beginning use of auto rx>? i was thinking, since synthetic cleans a little more, and with auto rx, it would be a b ettter combination! then at rinse phase to swith to a dino. whats everyone think?

You may run synthetic oil during the cleaning phase, I prefer dino for both phases. I beleave that cleaning occurs quicker in dino oil. To some extent some rinsing occurs with mineral based oils during the cleaning phase. If the motor has been fed a diet of dino, to this point, stick with it for the cleaning and rinse phases.

I used synthetic during my first clean and dino in my second clean. I believe a lot more gunk/junk came out on the second clean.

Just my observation. No obsolute proof.

Rick20,
Yes I did for about 1,500-2,000 miles. Fairly minimal ammout of junk came out. Thought there would be a bit more.

However, my engine had been running mobil 1 0w40 synthetic for about 12,000 miles with oil/filter changes every 4,000 miles. It may have been cleaner than I thought.
