want to see a different batch of race cars. put this in to google. fastest 4 cyl dragster or 6 cyl race cars.

Ha! My first car was a 1978 Toyota longbed pickup. It had the 20R engine. I had a Thorley Hedder, 2.5inch pipe, 350CFM Holley 2bbl,a 5 speed and 4.3 geared rear axle with welded spider gears.

No Nitrus or Turbo and it put 190hp to the wheels!

I was only 16 when I got it and started building it. We would all meet on a deserted desert road and drag race the 1/4 mile. My friends all knew what I had so we would wait for an unsuspecting new guy to show up. They were usualy from the air force base across town.

Someone would ask them what they were running. This was the mid-Late 80's. Usually they had a carbed 5.0L Mustang or 350 Iroc Camaro.

Someone would ask them if they wanted to race a Toyota! Many a Mustang or Camaro lost to the ugly Toyota! Often they would keep on going, never to return! Too embarassed to admit they lost to a 4cyl Toyota.

I would leave the starting line @ 8500 rpm. LOL

Umm. No! LOL. Actully the bottom end was stock. The head, cam etc were highly modified. Intake ports were the size of Golf balls where a stock port is about the size of a quarter.

Not a dragster but a race car the Chevron B8 is worth looking at. It was powered usually by a 2 litre BMW engine using 2 twin choke side draft carburetors.

Google 944 Turbo vs anything. Very entertaining... unless you happen to be running against one. 2, 5 L 4 cyl. Race car in street clothing. Still one of the fastest cars ever made by Porsche.

C'mon, man. I have owned a few and the 944 is a fine handler, but the fastest ever made?

My old 914-6 would eat one alive on a road course. The 944 was a fine track car but a bit far from your description!

I said "one of...not the fastest" and talking about Turbo not the N/A. Yes the 914 6 was also fast and even the 1.8 and 2.0 4cyl still own any tight road course especially AX. I always wanted a 914 6.Owned 2 914 2.0 and loved the flexi-flyers. Many other Pcars over the years. My 76 930 was a fast beast ...and a lot scarier but this 944T with a few minor tweaks is faster in straight line, top speed and best of all the handling won't kill you! Ha.

thats it tell me how fast your car is, with OUT telling me how fast it, really goes. STOP IT! no ET slip NO braging.

yep Standing 1/4-mile: 11.4 sec, 115 mph (185 km/h). for any 4 cyl is truly a fast car. and needs a good driver. and good mechanics. i know i could not do it.

I saw some chick in one of those new subie/toyota BRZ s drive by the other day. I really want one of those cars someday. Almost as good looking as a porsche fastback.

RWD, 2 litre boxer with just about 300 hp. That should be pretty fast.

The BRZ doesn't have anywhere near 300hp from the factory. They're a bit underpowered, really. But they are fantastic on the track.

When I strike it rich, I am buying one of these. Some say they are ugly, I say they follow function over form.

I've said this same thing for the last 25+ years or so since the Blue Oval first developed them.

I'll take a rallycross Evo 2.2 version, thank you very much, to go with my modded Escort Cossie WRC which will be parked right next to it!!
