Hi:
I put 8oz of AutoRx to my Mazda 626 2.5L V6 transmission and drove 1K miles. When I check the oil the pinkish color of the fluid disappear and become blackish with a tinge of pink. Is this because my fluid is dirty or it changes because of acidic condition. I am going to flush my trnasmission this weekend. Do shops use the same t-tech machine or only Jiffy Lube use that machine? Thanks.
George

ARX although a combination of esters is essentially neutral. If your trans has over 30,000 miles since the last change, consider it to be have been dirty. Many of the quick change oil places have essentially the same equiment to change out trans fluid.

Well, if it really comes down to it, you could use litmus paper or another acidity test. I remember doing that in highschool to test if an unknown substance was acidic or basic.

Power purge was done on my transmission after Arx. When it was done and drove it home, Oh boy what a difference it made. Thank you Prof Frank.
