how to read battery date code

what is the date code for a sears die hard group 79 battery.

Most simply have a sticker on the top. 05/13 is May 2013.

no sticker on it, just a stamped code in the plastic side

Some have a letter for the month. A=January. So A13 would be January 2013. or A2013. Some may append the plant of manufacture code. The year most likely is 2 digits. You may have to look at a few batteries in the store.

Get the newest. They say bypass if over 6 months old. I am not sure I would go that old.
