Don't take it personal buster but my Kubota BX1860 compact tractor with a 3 cylinder 18hp diesel engine can run that so-called off-road course in 4wd and it has more ground clearance and similar 9 inches(w/out mid-mount mower deck) as the Defender 90 compared with the Crosstrek's 8.7 inches. Mowing steeply graded wet hills and even steeper graded ditches is no match for the Kubota in 4WD.
Regardless, those are both fabulous vehicles I wouldn't mind owning.
