Seafoam to the crankcase wisdom

He used 20w-50 because it is thick and the Seafoam he was adding is thin, thus giving him an acceptable viscosity for his engine once mixed. I assume.

Seafoam is just pale oil, naptha, and rubbing alcohol in a 6:3:1 ratio. Not exactly high tech stuff.

Naptha and rubbing alcohol evaporate quickly.

yup,
I throw in 20w-50 to start with a thicker oil, cuz the seafoam or mineral oil will thin out the 50 weight.,
i consider my engine very clean,
but if you put in 3 litres of fresh 20w-50 and .75litres of seafoam after 15-20 mins the oil that comes out is so dark.......

Its amazing,
It might be over kill but oh well, I consider that the flush keeps the oil lines and passages very clean, and fast moving.
I do it almost every 1.5 years on my cars/ family and friends cars.

After the flush the new oil stays clear or cleaner much longer.....,

I also do 5,000kms OCI's with dino....
I used to use syn, but I found my 1.6 civic did not really get a bennefit from it,
