I have a 2005 Honda Rancher ES 350. It's always been maintained, has 3100 miles and the last oil I used was Castrol 10w40 4t Motorcycle oil and a Honda filter. I haven't ridden much and it had been a year since I changed it with about 100 miles on it, but I did notice a difference with the electric shift. It was slow, and wouldn't want to shift at times, I changed the oil with Honda 10w40 G4 and a Honda filter and it does seem like it shifts much better. Do you think it could be in my head or??? What oil do you think is best?

I use Mobil1 4t in mine it shifts really nice. Take your shift motor off and clean out the factory grease, that also helps. Otherwise Rotella t6 is wet clutch safe and lots of people use that.

Also make sure your clutch is adjusted, when they are not adjusted correctly it will not shift at times.
