Protecting the brake hub? from rust?

Sorry, stunned me, I don't even know what it is called. Honda Od. 12, just can see behind the rims into the brake area that hub part...is rusting a bit. Can I spray that with something to prevent rust build up...looks to simply be cosmetic but looks a bit rough on the new wheels.

Clean it up good with a wire brush then spray it with self etching primer and top coar with caliper paint.
Both can be had from AA or AZ cheap.

Any brand of silver hi-temp paint would probably work just fine.
