Some SERIOUS expanding .45acp rounds

WELL over an inch recovered?

Not too much penetration but it sure does expand.

Not enough penetration. I'd trade some of that expansion for more penetration.

Expansion doesn't mean much unless the bullet reaches the vitals.

Shot placement, then penetration, then expansion.

I'd be hard pressed to say there is anything wrong with the sort of penetration those get.

For personal defence at least I'd say that has some real punch. Against something like a bear? Well, maybe not.

I think I'd rather load up some Barnes 185 grain .45 cal bullets to +P velocities.

Not as good expansion, but much better penetration.

It's to bad that any caliber these days is just about unobtainable.

Yeah, they are pretty crazy expanders too. Comment in the video at time 4:00 is hilarious.

Gold Dots got 14" penetration with a fully expanded round at less than 800 fps in a colt .45 round.
