I have a 96 ES 300 I've just purchase in mint condition. It's been regularly service (have all records) and doesn't appear to be a sludege engine. Doesn't smoke at start-up and doesn't burn oil.

Because the engine is prone to sludging and the fact that is has 105K miles, I'm going to do an exhaustive RX Auto clean out.

Can folks comment on what brand/model of oil filter they would use for the rx clean and rinse phases as well as the filter and oil they would use after I've completd the cleanout cycle?

Thanks!

I would use the same type of filter you use on a normal oil change. Get the best available for your car. I would suspect the factory Lexus or Toyota filter would be fine.

For the oil, try the Havoline/Motorcraft....oils, or any oil on sale at the local autoparts or dept. stores.

For the filter, use whatever you want. Visit the oil filter forum.
