My current fill for the garage queen is synthetic 10w30 Valvoline VR1 (could not resist paying $1.99/qt. THe oil has been in the vehicle 3 months but only has around 300 miles on the oil itself. I have before that the VR1 change interval should be 3months/3000 miles. Can I extend the oil change a little longer or do I need to go ahead and drain.

Thanks

I wouldn't change it yet...3 months on a garage queen is low time...

What kind of car is the garage queen?

As long as you're getting the oil up to temp to burn off any moisture, it can stay in there a pretty long time.

IIRC the Blue street legal stuff has normal TBN #. Is that 300 miles 5-10 miles at a time? If so that oil should be changed at least 1x per year. Look for a home TBN test kit - there are some available online.

This is the street leagal sunthetic VR!. When I do crank the vehicle, I do 2 approxumately 30min of freeway driving minimum to remove any condesation from oil/engine/exhaust. Plan on doing a UOA/TBN when I drain since I have 32qts of the VR1 to make use of.
