What do you use to wipe your dipstick?

The Mobil station I always use has paper towel dispensers at every pump..I have never seen the dispensers empty.
I just put in syn oil for the first time ever...wipe off the dipstick and waste all that oil?...never...

I've carried TP in the glove box since seeing this thread years back. It has come in very handy for all kinds of situations since then. Most of the time though I check after the engine has been sitting for a while so no need to wipe. I can't resist smelling the oil though-at this point it's automatic. It does provide some useful information at times.
BTW, and slightly OT, has anyone noticed that certain engine families used oils smell the same?

toilet paper or paper towel, I'm not too concern as the oil filter should be able to filter out foreign particles and fiber.
