while i haven't been too impressed with the lc/fp combo in my car or bike (both fuel injected), my lawn mower (carbureted) has shown amazing results. there is little to no smoke at startup, where prior there was quite a cloud that lasted for several seconds. the gas mileage has improved substantially as well; i can mow about one more time on a full tank and gas can.

anybody have any ideas why it works great for carbs and eh? for my fuelies?

It could be that the sensors in fuel injected vehicles pick up on the changes in combustion effeciency and the competer adjust the fuel to compensate for the increased effeciency. Related to how much better a Carb motor reacts to a clean air filter compared to a FI motor.

I have fairly new vehicles and have not noticed a huge increase in mileage performance, but I sure feel alot better pletting my vehicles sit for weeks at a time with fuel in the tanks when I am using FP and LC.
